Description
The source distribution archive, apache-hive-4.0.0-SNAPSHOT-src.tar.gz, can be produced by running:
mvn clean package -DskipTests -Pdist
The file is generated under:
packaging/target/apache-hive-4.0.0-SNAPSHOT-src.tar.gz
The source distribution archive/package should allow anyone who downloads it to build and test Hive.
At the moment, on commit b63dab11d229abac59a4ef5e141d8d9b28037c8b, if someone produces the source package and extracts the contents of the archive, it is not possible to build Hive.
Both mvn install and mvn package commands fail when they are executed inside the directory extracted from the archive.
mvn clean install -DskipTests mvn clean package -DskipTests
