Mac Firefox repeats composed characters

On Mac Firefox, attempting to use the option keys to type a composed character, .e.g. "option+u" and "o" to type "ö" results in the composed character being typed 3 times, e.g. "ööö".

This does not seem to be an issue on Chrome.
