Fails to launch android application if activity's name starts with dot symbol in AndroidManifest.xml

In case a user changes their android:name property of their activity to .MainActivity, cordova manages to build but fails to launch the application.
This happens because cordova expects the name to be without a leading dot symbol and prepends one.
