Pipeline options translation fails silently with incompatible jackson-core library

Discovered when executing the job server with other dependencies in the class path. In this case it was jackson-annotations-2.2.3.jar, jackson-core-2.2.3.jar, jackson-databind-2.2.3.jar that came from Hadoop.
